Activating Offshore Businesses & Building World Class Ports - Speech at Portech Asia 2007

Fuzhou Qingzhou Container Terminal, or FQCT, is the designated terminal for direct shipping links between mainland China and Taiwan , with weekly shipping services to Hong Kong , Japan , Taiwan and Southeast Asia .

Fuzhou International Container Terminal, or FICT, is strategically positioned at the centre of the Fujian coastline along the Taiwan straits, and well connected to the hinterland via excellent road networks. This terminal is the only deep-sea terminal in Fuzhou and is well placed to serve international shipping routes.

Both FQCT and FICT also handle domestic feeder services.

Launched on 1 July 2001, Guangzhou Container Terminal (GCT) offers fully integrated container terminal operations at its six container berths at Guangzhou Huangpu Xingang and Xinsha terminals. It is located in the centre of the high growth Pearl River Delta region, enabling the terminal to better serve the fast growing container traffic from both Guangzhou and southern China .

Guangzhou Container Terminal was recognised as one of the top five domestic container terminals last year.

Currently under construction, Dongguan Container Terminal is strategically located on the east side of the Pearl River estuary, which has a rich cargo hinterland. It will serve as an important gateway to South China . Upon completion in the second half of 2008, the two container berths at Dongguan will each be capable of berthing 50,000 ton vessels.
