Mammoet to Build Third Terminal at Zeeland

Mammoet Benelux has announced it will build a third multi-purpose terminal at Autrichehaven Zeeland Seaports in the Netherlands.

The terminal will be built in 2011 on a 20-acre undeveloped harbor site, according to a company statement. The facility will include a 984 foot quay which will be able to accommodate vessels with up to 12.5 meters draft.

Mammoet will use the site to test three new super heavy-lift cranes. The cranes will be of two types: one with a load moment capacity of 120,000 ton meters and a second type with an even larger capacity rated at 160,000 ton meters.

Mammoet currently offers heavy lift and transport services at its terminals in Schiedam at Nieuwe Maas and at Westdorpe near Terneuzen.
