Three keynote speeches introduced various activities of respective association, expressed valuable ideas and new direction of cooperation and development on port business, and role of Port Association as well.
The Meeting reached following consensus after an extensive discussion:
In consideration of key proportion by Northeast Asia in world trade, three associations reached an understanding that 3 PHAs shall jointly pursue for diversified activities for both development and prosperity of port industry in Northeast Asia, and for common benefits as well.
3 PHAs agreeably concluded that the 5th President's Meeting of Port & Harbor Associations will be held in Japan in 2006 at same period of the 7th Director General Meeting of Ports & Harbours Bureau in Northeast Asia and the 7th Northeast Asia Port Symposium.
The subject of the next meeting will be "Challenging trends of economic globalization, 3 PHAs continue their efforts to promote development & prosperity of port industry in Northeast Asia".
This Memorandum of Understanding was written in English and singed at Orient Haitian Hotel, Yantai of China on August 29, 2005, in triplications for each Association holding a copy.

Thanks to our common efforts, this meeting proves really effective and completely prospective target-achievable. A moment ago, Mr. He Yegang of Secretary-General of China Ports & Harbours Association presented a speech on behalf of China Ports & Harbours Association with title of "Role-Play of Association, facilitate sustainable, swift and healthy development of Port industry in China"; Mr. Suzuki Hiroyuki of Manager, Planning Division of Ports & Harbours Association Japan presented a speech on behalf of Ports & Harbours Association Japan with title of "Activities & Study Subjects that the PHA of the Three Countries Should Pursue for the Development & Prosperity in the Port Industry of Northeast Asia", and Mr. Kim Hak-So, Director of Korea Port & Harbor Association presented a speech on behalf of Korea Port & Harbor Association with title of "Cooperative Projects and Joint Study Subjects for 3PHAs to Pursue for the Development and Prosperity of Port Industry of Northeast Asia".
