In recent years, as economy boomed in the Southwest and Southeast China, the coastal ports in these two areas have developed accordingly. In 2006, the cargo throughput was 21% and 27.3% more than the previous year respectively, which was much higher than the average increase ratio in China and a higher percentage in the country.
