By the end of 2006, Guangzhou Port Group had 103 berths of various kinds (46 berths with capacity of over 10,000 dwt), a quay length of 16,201 meters, 13 buoys and 23 anchorages, all capable of accommodating 10,000 dwt vessels (with the largest anchoring capacity of 300,000 tons).
In 2006, Guangzhou Port Group accelerated its steps in port investment and construction with partners like Maersk, COSCO and China Shipping, which enabled the Port of Guangzhou to be transformed from a river port into a sea port. The basic terminal figures are as follows:
