In recent years, the cargo volume handled in Port of Zhanjiang has increased quickly with an annual growth of 10 million tons. In 2006, cargo throughput amounted to 81.73 million tons, 23.5% more than the previous year, of which the ZPG handled 50.08 million tons of cargo, including container volume of 182,000 TEU.
